After Effects: creating a demo TV ad for Fleur Bodywear / using a 24 mm camera

with 2 comments

a couple of times each year I set up a DVD for Fleur, showing all the nice, new lingerie the make.
and having for a long time wanted to work a bit with cameras in 3D space in After Effects, I decided to make a demo TV ad from the slides of the DVD.

showcase: different stuff made in After Effects

without comments

back in 2007 while working at Konceptas we did a lot of jobs for Berg Furniture. among other stuff Søren Dybdal made this DVD in After Effects.

check out the DVD for Berg Furniture here

the video above is a Windows Media Video-file for the internet and therefore in low quality – the result is naturally much better on DVD.
actually the DVD is made from this demo I made as timeline-animation in Flash:

experiment, this experiment is made almost entirely with effects in After Effects. it’s a bit hard to say what it has turned out to be. dots that are alive, perhaps?

check out the example made out of effects in After Effects here

experiment, this experiment is a video-intro, like the Nordisk Film-intro with the polar bear growling or the stars around a mountaintop in the Paramount Pictures-intro.

check out the intro here

this intro has a nice 3D-feel and depth!

experiment, so, just playing around with After Effects, I ended up doing another simple intro:

it’s nothing out of the ordinary, but one thing worth mentioning is the text effects on the bit: “Creating Text Animation”..
it’s very easy to add effects in After Effects.
I just selected the layer with the text in my composition, chose effect and added the Wave Warp effect.
that’s all – to me, coming from Flash, this is very simple and easy to make :O)
and each effect is highly customizable, so it can be adjusted for lots of purposes.

see the effects from the menu, and the effect controls in the in red wagely highlighted area:

in may 2008, I had to make a present for my wifes daughter.
we we’re givin’ her a gift voucher for a holiday, a holiday she could decide the destination of.

so, mostly she likes big city holidays and holidays at the beach, and of course the gift voucher should symbolize this. being no design guru, I was not at all sure how to make this, but I used two photos, some clip art, and some different fonts and ended up with quite an OK result in PhotoShop.

check out the gift voucher I made here:

the gift voucher was made with graphic assistance from Christian Mortensen and Dorthe Bjerg.
the photo from New York was taken by Will Phillips from the United Kingdom and the photo from Curacao was taken by Paul Jursa from Canada. both photos were found at SXC.hu

thanks to Christian, Dorthe, Will and Paul.

about 6 months ago I made this invitation to be put on a USB-stick and send to every member of Kristelig Arbejdsgiverforening. it’s an invitation to the annual meeting, and besides this it holds information about the general meeting, the election of members to the board of directors, a tour at the Holmegård Glasværk, a virtuel tour of Sørup Herregård, pictures from earlier meetings, a teaser of a concert to be given and much more.

the invitation was to be relaxing to go through, and I ended up combining slow fades from the different areas with a piece of classical music.

check out an online version of the invitation from Kristelig Arbejdsgiverforening here:

the local venue for music; Fermaten asked me to do a countdown on its website, as it was opening in a brand new location at the 14th of march 2008 9pm.

to make this countdown I ‘hacked’ a file from flashden.net made by the Mateusz from Poland.
with some adjustment and a bit of editing his original ActionScript I managed to make this countdown:

see Mateusz’ version of the countdown here
see the version made for Fermaten here

EDIT: as Fermaten now has reopened the countdown just counts down for some silly time in the future: the 11th of November 2010 9pm

being a true fan of soccer, I just had to post this post, even though it has almost nothing to tell regarding Flash. what you see in the link is a chapter in a long row of chapters making a instore DVD-commercial for a danish company selling glasses: Nyt Syn.

the chapter in the link is very simple made, with nothing but timeline tweens.
but it also shows the danish Mini Ronaldinho, not only a technically very gifted young footballer, but also a very nice-looking young copy of the brazilian footballplayer.

check out the young danish version of Ronaldinho here

very funny, and very off-topic.
I asked Morten Stig to do to his magic in PhotoShop so he could create this design for my VISA-card, but it was rejected by my bank because of being obvious political… but honestly, the person in the picture is really me :O)

check out here how the VISA-card could have looked:
